Roleplay & LARP (Live Action Roleplay) #GEOTL23
Are you looking for a LARP?
by Bradley Weaver GM
GEOTL is an undertaking seeking to combine the pleasures of a board gaming convention with other unique opportunities for the attendees.
One such opportunity is the ability to experience an immersive Live Adventure Role Playing experience during the GEOTL. The LARP is designed and coordinated by The Anachronistic Players; players with decades of LARP and game playing experience wishing to cultivate a new generation of role players.
The Anachronistic Players focus on player character development that allows the players to inhabit the characters they have created in a shared environment dedicated to play. We are not forming armies to contest arms over territories or conduct sieges, so combat is relegated to an aspect of one’s character development and not the sole focus of our play. Neither are we focused on historical accuracies or re-enactments; ours is a fantasy realm where magic and fantastical creatures and beasts roam.
Growth over the past two years has led to some changes. We have created a separate tavern/dining space for LARP participants to make room for the expanded board gaming in the Castle (dining hall) as well as to give the LARP players an immersive environment without the distractions of the board gaming activities. LARP players may enter and interact at the tavern throughout the day and night, as it is a central hub for role play.
For those players wishing to camp, a LARP camping area has been established adjacent to the tavern (and near the bath house.)
The mornings during the week will consist of practice in LARPing skills. Beginning at lunch, in-character classes from the Laughing Otter School of Adventuring will be held, and adventures undertaken. A schedule of events will be sent out closer to the event.
NOTE: If you wish to participate in the LARP, there is no prohibition to taking breaks from role play to shop, play board games or enjoy any of the camp activities you may wish.

NOTE: Say you want to give this LARP a try, for a day, or an afternoon, or an evening or more. We have some pre-made character outlines for you that will involve you in the play, loaner costumes, props and gear to deck you out appropriately, and experienced players to guide you.
A player character information sheet, including dietary restrictions should be completed and returned to
AnachronisticPlayers@gmail.com along with any questions regarding the 2023 GEOTL LARP.
Thanks,
